New 2 REEF!

Hello, Newbie here! Tank been set up for a week,Every test is OK except low calcium.What do I do to correct that?Also I have a thin brown layer of crap forming on my sand? Any suggestions of what it is and how to fix it?

Welcome to RS. Have you done a water change and how is your flow?

Don't "Do" anything right now. Your tank is VERY new and needs time to mature!

What size is it?

What's in it?

Type of filtration?

That "brown" stuff may be diatom bloom which is perfectly normal i na new tank.

Welcome to RS!
Lots of things can be going on in a tank that new. What kind of setup do you have? size, filtration, test results, what did you use to cycle. These are all very important first steps that can lead us in the right directiion. Pictures of the situation is also very helpful.

phosphate good,carbonate hardness good,nitrate levels good, calcium low
