Re: Hello

Hello and Welcome!!

It's good you're researching BEFORE hand! Two different worlds! I was in your shoes EXACTLY one year ago this month! Fresh Water all my life and wanted SW!

Take some time to look around and ASK lots of questions. Here are some starter out pointers I think you'll want..

#1 Don't run out and buy a bunch of stuff from your LFS. Let's talk about it and research it ALL before hand. We can probalby save you some hard earned $$ right from the start.

#2 Don't passively accept everything (anything really) you hear from your Local Fish Store (LFS). They are in the hobby to make money.. the more fish you lose the more they sell

#3 Go slow... everything in a SW tank is slow and deliberate!

#4 go to Newbies, a little something on cycling/breaking in a new reef tank. and learn the Nitrogen Cycle intimately! It's going to either be your BEST friend or your Worse Nightmare! It's up to you to decide which one

Welcome to a GREAT place!!

Remember that EVERY single one of us started EXACTLY where you are now. You're not alone!!

Life is GOOD

Allen Allen's testimonial . . ."Let Me help you help YOURSELF" (Click Here)

with a SW set up there is one basic fundamental rule that we ALL should follow
When in doubt... wait it out. This means take it slow and let the tank "develop" and don't rush it. Time is your friend

Re: Hello

Thanks Al. I have done quite a bit of exploring to make sure I want to take this leap. The one thing that I know is true is dont rush things. I have had only one fish for quite some time so the wating game is not going to be a problem. I want to do this right or not do it at all. All the info I have researched has been very helpful and the LPS also, but I dont like the "taking it up the butt" felling I get on the prices. The net is the best tool people have besides word of mouth. Thanks for the support.
