Hi! Welcome to RS. Removing the rock from the tank and scraping it away may work if there isn't too much. Provided your tank has completed its cycle, some use emerald crabs. Also, if there is just a spot or two. Covering it with superglue gell, letting it harden and removing the gell along with the algae also works.

It is important to carefully hand pluck as many as possible and remove them from the tank at least once a week but the more often, the better. Make sure the nitrAtes are low (10ppm or less) and the po4 is low or undectible. Regular water changes, an ro/di filter, a good skimmer and phosphate media will keep the nutrients low and help to starve out the algae.

yup, that superglue trick worked for me. Make sure it's the gel kind, easier to work with.

Hi, and Welcome to RS!!

I have recently begun a campaign using a stiff toothbrush and a small diameter siphon hose. I scrub the bubbles and siphon out the spores. It is working great. Also I've cleaned up my nitrate act. In addition, I put 5 emerald crabs in to eat it. All of these things are systematically ridding me of this pretty, but invasive stuff.
