| Scopas Tang | 76 Posts Later...LOL I guess I should have posted here first, but figured I would just jump right into posting mode..LOL. Anyway, my name is Chris. I live just south of Raleigh, NC. (For those local reefers that would like to occasionally get together to talk "shop") I've been involved in this hobby since the early 90's, but the last time I actually had a tank was when under gravel filtration was the hottest thing out... wow, that was a while back! In June 2007 I bought a 12g NanoCube DX and have been smitten since. Over the course of the next 6 months I will be moving up to a 144g half circle in which I will chronicle. I've already been posting on what equipment to buy. Need Some Advice On Filtration & Other Components. So any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. I want to express my deepest thanks to everyone who has helped me so much since I became a member. You all are very knowledgeable, and have helped me out greatly. Thanks for your time, Chris Last edited by SaltwaterGeek : 01-09-2008 at 08:16 AM. |

| Scopas Tang | Re: 76 Posts Later...LOL Yeah the Oceanic 144g Half circle is a great looking tank. There is one set up at my LFS. The dimensions are 57.5x29x29. The curved glass makes the tank look so much bigger. However, the curved glass also demands a much higher $ amount. Chris |

| Scopas Tang | Re: 76 Posts Later...LOL Hey Woody... I went to Triangle Tropical Fish today. Not bad. I think I was most impressed by their collection of reference books more than anything. I found another new spot just across from the Southpoint mall. Its called Salty Waters. Great Atmosphere, awesome selection.... but they can work on the CS a bit. I just bought a nice zoo frag from them today. The other place you told me about.... "That Fishy Place", in Durham... I couldn't locate it.... Can you give me directions? Thanks, Chris |

I like Salty Waters.. nice place and very clean. They just moved from another location off of 15/501 area. Sorry to hear about the CS issue there. They're usually very hospitable but they stay very busy. Ohhh... They can make (or have a carpenter to) some AWESOME custom cabnitry if you're interested. I frequent Triangle Tropical fish store and Salty waters for about 90% of my fishy needs. Between the both of them you can find what you need. www.ReefScience.com has a store just off of 540/ 70 in Raleigh. Have you check it out yet? They are a direct importer of corals and they provide fish for several fish stores in the area. I was just there Sunday to pick up a few bulbs.

| Scopas Tang | Re: 76 Posts Later...LOL Oh yeah, Salty Waters...LOL. I didn't have a bad experience there its just that its ran by a bunch of 20 year olds, so you get the CS to match. When I went in there today, I actually had to tell the sales rep what kind of coral a few he had were... Overall not a bad place. I haven't been to the one on 540/70... How would you rate them? Do you have an addy or phone number locally? I'll have to check them out maybe tomorrow and see whats up. Chris |
