Hello from Kansas City

I just came across this site and from what I see it looks like I will be sticking around for quite some time. I have been into saltwater for about 3 years now and currently have a 58rr that I have just converted over from a predator tank to a reef.

I am running a Hamilton Tech 250HQI ballast with a single ended Hamilton Tech 250 14k bulb, Coralife SuperSkimmer in my 20g long sump, a couple of modified MJ 900's for flow, a Stealth heater, and have a Kent Maxima HI-S RO/DI for my water.

As far as livestock, I have about 40lbs of sand for a substrate, approx. 90lbs of Fiji and Tonga live rock, 2 TR False Percs, a Yellow Clown Goby, a Flasher Wrasse, various snails and crabs, a Dereas Clam, a Green Brain, 2 Frogspawn single heads, a small zoo frag rock, a candcane with approx. 12 heads, a good sized Colt Coral frag, and a couple of Feather Dusters.

I am just now getting started with this reef so it may be a while before I get it looking like I want it, but you have to start somewhere and take things slow.

I will try to post some pics here in the next few days.

Bradd

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~

Re: Hello from Kansas City

Thank you all for the very warm welcome. It is nice to come to a new site and get welcomed like that. It really makes you feel at home.

I will try to get some pics of my setup as soon as I can, but as of right now the only camera I have is on my cell phone, and those pics just don't do any justice. Who knows, I may go ahead and try to post a few anyway.

Once again, thanks for the welcome. I look forward to being around here for quite some time.
