New to the forums :D

Hello guys new to the forums, found it because I have recently became interested in housing cuttlefish and this site came up with an interesting topic about them. I currently have a 29G SW tank that houses 20 or so corals (orange sun coral being my favorite), an arch eye hawkfish, a nemo and the reason I started this tank...a peacock mantis shrimp. I also have a 150G FOWLR tank with SW preds in it. Both tanks I consider fully stocked.

I will be looking into how difficult it is to keep cuttlefish, how hard it is to obtain them in good health, and the size tank i will need to house some for possible breeding (if they even breed in captivity, although i'm sure they do, i read someone bought eggs...)

Oddly enough, I just read an article about cuttlefish. Unfortunately, what I read is not promising. Here's a direct quote from the article in Aquarium Fish International:
"I do not agree with the collection and sale of these animals or their eggs, because they are relatively rare over most of their range. They also ship poorly. Most of these animals shipped from Indonesia or the Philippines will die in transit - dozens may be collected to get a live one to your aquarium.
Also, reports I have collected regarding captive care suggest they rarely do well in captivity. As mentioned before, they are also short-lived. Do you really want to pay big bucks for an animal that will live for mere months? I really would discourage you from buying buying this or other rare cephalopods."
