I have no answer for the electricity...... or the water. I may switch to something more efficient then a RO/DI. As for the electricity......I have no answer. Also I have plans for a pvc framework thus limiting the amount of rock I really need.

Use T-5s for lighting. Metal Halides might give you that awesome shimmer, but T-5s can almost match their intensity+they take a LOT less electricity to run+they are MUCHO cheaper.

Or go with the LEDs. If I had it to do over I would.
Cooler and less electricity not to mention bulb costs.
