| Tunicate | New to Site! Hello Alll, I have looked to this site for a while now for info and such. I currently live in DWF area and am relocated to Oregon in about a week. I have had various tanks over the past 10 years including a 125G reef when I lived in San Diego. I am currently in the planning phase of a 150G(48") reef, I plan on using two overflows with a Hofer Gurgle Buster in each. How much flow can each HGB handle in its dedicated overflow? Thanks for help in advance this info will be greatly appreciated. |

| Totally stoked dude ![]() | Re: New to Site! I haven't done the HGB standpipe myself. It looks like the flow would be about the same as a stockman. Which I found wasn't noticablly different than an open 1" standpipe. Of course I was limited by the 700 gph that my overflow wall could actually handle. so I would say two should be able to easily handle 1400gph ![]() There seems to be a lot of variable when determining how much flow a drain pipe can handle, including restrictions from plumbing and how much pressure is on the outlet if it is submerged, etc. Way over my head... All I know is if it floods then I need more drain holes ![]()
