Temp Emergency

it was hot today the first real hot day in my place with the tank...it is now it is pushin 85 deg F in my tank how hot can it get????? do they make small chillers for the back bays of a 24 gal aquapod?

not sure about the chillers but maybe you could do some water changes to bring down the temp now.good luck

Are you running the lid on? If so, you could lift the lid for evaporative cooling, or even add more fans to keep the temp down.

Also, what kind of pump are you using? Finding one that runs cooler than the stock AP pump would probably also help you out tremendously...

I have an aquapod as well. They have a kinda poor design with reguards to the hood. They get VERY hot. I have to keep my lid propped up about one to two inches all the time, even in winter.This allows for Evaporative cooling. I would try this in conjunction with some water changes. But dont drop the temp to fast, this can be as much of a stress as the water being 85. So, slowly bring down the temp and keep the hood proped up.
They do make nano chillers, but they are very pricey, and take up alot of space. Fans and evaporation can be your two best friends.

they make small chillers for nano's. Iceprobes there called.
