Hello guys im Jess from Mexico I started this hobby 5 months ago and its been both challenging and fun, I got a 45 gallon glass tank my equipment is 4 aquaclear powerheads, 2 x 96 watt coralife PCs, remora c skimmer, 80 lbs of live rock and a 4 inch DSB. Livestock is 2 percula clowfish, 1 blue hippo tang, 1 mandarin dragonet, 1 skunk cleaner shrimp, 1 coral banded shrimp, 1 chocolate starfish, lots of hermit crabs and snails, 4 branch frogspawn coral, pearl bubble coral, green bubble coral, electric green open brain, red open brain, 2 red mushrooms, 1 green mushroom, 8 green star polyps, 20+ brown polyps, 6 clavularia polyps, 1 orange sun coral, and a 13 head candy cane and a caulerpa macroalgae.
I bought my equipment here at local LFS but all of my livestock at mc allen, texas so I actually drove twice 6 hours to buy the corals and fish.
Only trouble I had was with a cyanobacteria outbreak which I solved after started dosing prodibio and the DSB. 90% of what I know about the hobby Ive learned in the forums and in google, all LFS here at tampico just sell freshwater livestock and have no idea about reef keeping.
Other additives I dose is seachem complete, seachem plus and once a month either reef builder or reef buffer depending on my water parameters.
Current water parameters are: Salinity 1.025, ammonia/nitrite 0, nitrate 0, PH 8.3, alcalinity 120 mg/l, calcium 410 ppm, phosphates 0.2 mg/l, temperature 80° F
...and when I'm old and wise
little things mean little to me
like autumn winds they'll blow right through me
and someday, in the mist of time
when they ask you if you knew me
remember that you were a friend of mine
Howdy Hooo!

Hello Jess welcome to RS![]()
Just an FYI chocolate Chip starfish aren't reefsafe, it will eat soft corals, sponges, tubeworms, clams, and other starfish so keep an eye on it.
