| Bryozoan | Just starting a reef again after 6 years Hello, I am just cycling my new 29g reef, cleaned by a AquaC remora HOT. 40lbs Live Sand 30lbs Live Rock 3 small blue leg hermit crabs That's it so far. This is actually my 3rd tank. 1st was a 55g fish only, experimented with various filters from undergravel to canister. No great success or failure. Then upgraded that to a 60g reef with a typical sump. Red sea berlin skimmer powered by a giant noisy pump that never let my water get below 82, but that reef actually did well for 4 years, until my first child was born, so I ignored it for a few months, during which a rare 100 degree heat wave in San Francisco brought the water up to 90, I wasn't paying attention, and it all died off. I tried to revive it over the next 6 months or so, but got nowhere. Broke it down, and sold it off. Now 6 years later, I thought it would be a fun family activity. My 2 boys seem excited about it. Love watching the crabs eat dirt off the bottom. |
