| Tunicate | New to the Forum Hello everyone, I'm new here. I have a 30gal (20x18x20) pre-reef aquarium with one soldierfish, an urchin, and chocolate chip star. I have 20lbs of live rock (and counting), and ten pounds of live sand. The aquarium has been in progress for nearly a year and I've been working on building up live rock until I get my lighting system which I'm not sure about yet. This will be a reef aquarium with possibly 150 watts of metal halide from a sunpod HQI (which leads me to my first question... is that overdoing it?). See you all on the forum. -Ross |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: New to the Forum Welcome to RS! Lots of friendly helpful people here. Post some pics when you can. The light should be great. Particularly if you want sps or anemones. Be careful with the chocolate chip star. They are not reef safe and will likely munch on your corals.

| Harlequin Tuskfish | Re: New to the Forum Welcome Ross...great to see you here at RS.....I would move or get rid of the Chocolet Chip (Not Reef Safe) when you finally get ready to add some corals....if you want a Sea Star, I would go with the Blue Linckia......its reef safe but needs PREMO water quality and conditions to survive.....
