Hi there

I am a newbie that might have questions that have already been answered. I apoligize, but there is some much info out there and so much has changed over the years in saltwater. I had tanks in high school in a marine biology class when under gravel was the way to keep tanks so......I also don't remember keeping corals back then, we were just happy to have rock in the background!

Re: Hi there

Cool thanks! My only current question is in regards to my pump setup. I just noticed a cyclic noise and see that the water in my overflow is going up and down. IT causes a surge in the wet/dry pump with a gurgling noise. IS there a way to stop that noise?

Re: Hi there

I had this same problem. WHAT i did to stop it was make my hose a stright run from the overflow to the sump. Move your sump to the other side. What is happening is that you have to much of a bend in the line. the water is building up in the bend, then it gose down. Making that nosie.

Re: Hi there

We just played with that line and you were right. The line went down and then curved back up. This was causing that sound. Just taking that bend that went back up in the line out stopped this noise. AWESOME!!!!

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~
