Identifying reef organisms

Hi

Have never joined a forum or anything like this before, so I'll need to learn how it works.

I went to Tahiti this summer for my first ever snorkling experience, and I've got all these pictures of fish I can't identify in Coral Reef Fishes, Lieske & Myers (Princeton), which seems pretty good. Hoping to post some pics and get opinions on what they are, like these cool clams, which I saw in a variety of colors... usually 8-10 inches across and imbedded in the coral. Are they Tridacnae? Gigas?

Looking forward to seeing and learning about reef life. Can't wait to get back there with more knowledge and after learning to scuba.

Thanks,
Will
