Question 75 gallong lighting

Hi, I have a 75 gallon tank that I'm going to be setting up in the next few months and I have a lighting question. I would just like to know what the best watt/gallon ratio would be for a mostley softie tank and maybe some Pavona Cactus, and some other easier SPS. I'm going to go with metal halide lighting, but will use actinics for dawn, dusk aplications. I want to go wiht reef star pendants at 14k, but i don't know what wattage, and I'm getting frustrated. I want to go with the 250w but I don't want to have to worry about bleaching the softies, and I don't know if 150w is enough light to get to the bottom. I would like to stay with lower wattage if possible for the $ savings in electric bill. The tank is standard 75g tank. I have been in the hobby for about a year and have been very succesful with a 12g Aquapod . I have Pavona, Xenia, Mushrooms, Zoanthids, Ricordia, and pipeorgan that are all doing very well, but I would like some help on the new tanks lighting as I don't want to have to spend extra money to fix a lighting issue. Thank you in advance for any asistance that you can provide.
