| Tunicate | Hello I'm new to this site my name is Pete I'm from Red Bank ,N.JNovice to the reef tank(6 mos.)I have a few branching frogspawn lps clove polyps rics. Great site,I hope I dont bother anyone with some questions from time to time having a problem with nitrate levels being too high,one head of frogspawn/a few zoos closing up I believe Im reading 10p.p.m(low range)How do I go about getting back towards 0?Water changes?Will polyps open back up?Please help. |

Let's look at your other parameters too... can you post your reef's temp, ph, salinity, alkalinity and calcium levels? Also, what sized tank is it? What type of lighting? Describe its filtration... skimmer? sump? ![]()

Nitrates are on the edge of the acceptable level, but shouldn't be high enough to cause problems. The best way to reduce them would be water changes. What else is in the tank? Any fish? Enjoy the site. Lots of friendly and helpful people here.
