Hello everyone, Heads up on FISSION Nano Skimmer

Hello everyone, Im not too new to reef keeping, I am the keeper of a 75 Gallon reef aquarium (set up 1 year ago), and I recently set up a Aqua-pod Nano reef in my office. I recently ordered a Fission Nano-Protein Skimmer that they claimed would fit in the back of the aquarium but it didnt, so now its in the actual aquarium. I had to place it in the front of the aquarium so I could close the lid. Its not to bad looking, but it really is a distractor when viewing the tank Just a heads up if you plan on purchasing one. I look forward to sharing some pics but Im not too good with a computer and it keeps telling me that my files are to big. Ill keep trying.

Hi JasonL, and welcome! PM me if you need some help with the pics... try resizing to JPEG at 600 pixels on the largest end and JPEG quality of 60... then bring down JPEG quality as necessary. Resizing is the first step.

Re: Hello everyone, Heads up on FISSION Nano Skimmer

I've been doing some research on that skimmer and every site I see say's its a submersible protien skimmer that sits on top of the powerhead.

Patented design
Unique submersible design fits into almost any nano-style aquarium system. Put the pump next to it, beside it, or under it - it fits almost anywhere.
Personally, I don't like all the "submersible" equipment that is made for very small tanks. I know that they don't have much room to hang things off of but placing the equipment inside the tank and taking up precious space is the last thing that nano tanks need.

Re: Hello everyone, Heads up on FISSION Nano Skimmer

Hey guys, I appreciate the response, I finally got the pics posted thanks Travis. Cougra, Ill take a pic with the Fission soon. Its not a real eye sore considering what its accomplishing thus far. I was told by my dealer that you really didnt need a skimmer for the nano, but Ive also heard from several people on-line that it will help reduce the number of water changes, and since I work a 4 on 3 off schedule I figured its better safe than sorry. So take a look at the pics I posted. Looking forward to exchanging info and talking to people that dont think Im starnge for loving this hobby.
