| Tunicate | filter Hi I'm having a problem with my nitrate check it this morning 60 not good yesterday I changed 10% of my water,this tank is 100 wet dry. I went to my friendly reef store aquarium gallery I wanted to get reed off the filter under the drip and add rock is this ![]() |

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: filter Yep, bioballs are nitrAte factories... live rock is better since it has deep pores that help to grow the anearobic bacteria responsible for turning the nitrAtes into a harmless gas. Like Travis said.. remove the balls slowly so the nitrifying bacteria will have a chance to grow on other surfaces.
