| Ricordea | Cheatomorpha and Caulerpa racemosa I have heard that Cheatomorpha and Caulerpa racemosa will help to remove the nitrites that are causing the hair algae problem in our 12g tank. (please see sambrinar for pictures of tank) I am getting ready to setup a 30g tank and I am going to install a sump system after doing research. This question has probably been asked and answered however, I have not been able to find the thread. Thanks so much for all of your help. Charise |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Cheatomorpha and Caulerpa racemosa Cheato is by far better. Calurpea can turn sexual and release the nutrients back into the water. Cheat absorbs them as well but doesn't release them back into the tank.

| Neon dottyback | Re: Cheatomorpha and Caulerpa racemosa Absolutely it will. All macroalgaes remove nitrates from your tank. Do some research before you buy caulerpa though, as it has a tendency to go sexual, which can cause ph swings in your tank. The dealer will probably have information on this. |
