green algae growing on glass

I have green algae that is growing all over the glass and i cant seem to get it off using the sponge glass scrapers and the snails dont seem to be eating it either. No matter how hard I try to scrape the glass it doesn't want to come off. What is it and how can i get rid of it?

Is it hard like corraline or is it hairy?

Green corraline algae. Careful with those green scrubby's, they will scratch the glass, if that is what you are using. I have always used razor blades on a stick, works like a charm.

Mine haven't in over 18 years.

You just need to use the edge of the blade. I have a mag float with a razor blade attachment that works great. For corraline you are going to have to work a bit no matter what you use. Some people even use an old credit card but I find that too difficult.

Coralline is such a chore! You are probably wondering now why you probably wanted it in the first place. I personally hate coralline.
