| Midas Blenny | Re: please ID It is Bubble Algae.. "Valonia SP". Most often, you see it in small, round, berry sized growth formations. However, it can grow to look like bananas or even linked like tiny sausage farms Emerald "Mythrax" crabs have been reported to eat it. Mine didn't much care for it. Manual removal was my only option. Careful not to "pop" them or it will spread in your tank. IF you can remove the rock, do that, and rinse with salt water before putting it back into the display.Dave

| Scopas Tang | Re: please ID I have similar looking stuff in my tank and it doesn't really spread or grow much. I think that it looks more like a turf algae . I looked up Valonia Uticularis and this is what I found and it doesn't really look similar at all to me. http://home2.pacific.net.ph/~sweetyu...acrohitch2.jpg

| Manta Ray | Re: please ID I don't know if it is a bubble algae or not. If so, it resembles the valonia type found on p. 74 in Calfo's Reef Invertebrates. I have something similar and it has not spread. I plan on removing it from its rock when I frag, but if it isn't invasive right now... In the meantime, keep your phosphates in check and it might not get too exciting. |

| Tridacna maxima | Re: please ID I have bubble algae including the banana kind but mine doesn't look like that though. I'm not saying that's not it, just that I don't think that's it. My algae book is at home or I'd look it up.
