What no long weekend drives in your future LOL........

Yeah I`m pretty lucky being minutes and a handful of miles away.

The effect in the end is the same though.....none of Donis clowns in our tanks. I can guarantee its worth the wait to finally get them though.

Ya after looking at Donis thread on her build. It seems you are the master carpenter! I need a new stand! Too bad you are 2,000 miles away.....

Doni,
Yep the black clown and the smaller orange clown from the Nano are the ones you saw and they are still in there.

Thanks for the compliment. Doni asks and I build... LOL
It actually gives me something to do in my spare time with my son before he gets too old for Dad time anymore.

Cheerish those times as they are short lived! I love black clowns. However, I think I would love picasso's more....

Re: Grow out system?

I should have taken photos this weekend when the carpenters cut a large hole in the side of my garage and then put a nice Pella window in it. LOL~
Today they will install the 12,000 BTU window AC unit in it. This will provide AC in the summer and heat in the winter to my garage that houses my TWO growout systems (640 gallons total).
It will be much better than having a chiller on each system!

Phyxius delivered the 40 breeder (for my breeding pairs) and stand yesterday and we...or actully, he drilled it in the front yard. Thanks soooooo much Mike! As always, great work!

The 40 breeder will have dividers in it to create four 10 gallon sections and will be home to four pairs of clowns: naked pair, blk&wht pair, a snowcasso pair and a snowcasso/perc pair.

Re: Grow out system?

Thanks again Phyxius for all your help making the stands

I sold my 1/3 HP SeaChill and paid carpenters to cut a hole in the garage wall, install a window and then insert a 12,000 BTW AC unit. Little did I know that it would require its own dedicated 220 v circuit....
Only a slight obstacle! My electrician came out this morning and installed the circuit. Whohoo! We have cool air now!

This is the finished product!

NEW 40 GALLON BREEDER w/10 GAL Sections
Yesterday and today, I worked on my new breeder sections. It is complete except for the Current 6x39watt T5 light fixture. The light was damaged (all bulbs were broken) during shipping so the retailer is sending me a completely new fixture. They want to be sure I get a new, undamaged unit. Ohhh... the reason I have the strong lights is because I want each breeding pair to have one-two BTA's. Yes, I spoil my fish

This tank is plumbed into my 340 gallon growout. I debated doing this but decided to since the water quality is perfect in this system (57 watt UV, vodka dosing, water changes, bubble king skimmer, etc.)...I will write a more detailed post on it later in the week....

The dividers are a makeshift of things I had lying around. I used thin acrylic sheets and wanted to drill holes in them but the acrylic was so brittle, it just cracked. ......No problem... I instead cut out one section in each divider then covered it with gutter guard. This would provide very good flow through each section. The cut outs are placed in a manner that will direct the water flow zig-zag to prevent any calm areas.

I also wanted to allow the dividers to be removed easily should I need to make one section larger. To make this, I used pieces of egg crate for the channels that the acrylic will sit between. This worked out very well and I am happy with it I can remove any of the dividers within seconds if necessary.

I was going to paint the clear acrylic but decided to leave it natural since the coralline and algae will soon create the perfect privacy curtain. lol

Anyhow, here are photos. You can see the 'cut outs' easily prior to me removing the blue plastic acrylic film.

Of course, Phyxius (Mike) made the stand it is on
