Re: Rearing Picasso Percula Clownfish!

WOW! Doni, you are doing better than most at the first few attempts. I see threads where people get to the 10th spawn, and still have yet to get them to meta. GREAT JOB!!

You're doing such an awesome job! They're so adorable! How many did you have pre-meta?

I never did count them. I think there were approx 100 or so to begin with.
Over the last 8 days, I've lost maybe a dozen or so? I only lost one last night.
I THINK I have approx 80 or so left?
The majority are doing very well and all have great appetites!

Re: Rearing Picasso Percula Clownfish!

That's awesome! I've been telling Tommy abut the babies and he's pretty excited (which is a big deal). Do you have a LFS willing to buy the extra babies? How many fry will you raise?

Re: Rearing Picasso Percula Clownfish!

I doubt she will have a problem selling the babies... Time for a website Doni!! Have you thought about what you are going to charge for them yet? I may be interested in a pair as well....

I'm thinking about raising one hatch per month. So basically only raising every other spawn. I THINK I will have room for all of those babies...
If we had room, I would raise every spawn... but then I would have NO time to post updates here at RS LOL
I do not think I will have a problem selling the babies to LFS in the area since we have so many stores around here.

Price? I am not sure just yet.... Depends on their markings.
I imagine I'll have a price range of about $15 and up.
If they are all "normally striped" and a LFS wants 75-100, I'll do $10-12 each.
I've read that the third white stripe and black usually take longer than 4+months to develop so we're in for a loooong wait
