Re: Rearing Picasso Percula Clownfish!

That's a lot of clownfish! Amazing! How many thousands do you think you've raised now?

Ask and you shall receive!! I finally uploaded and posted all of the spawns in the posts above. Man, it takes a long time to upload videos.
I currently only have the four spawns but another will hatch tonight.

Have you done away with BBS completely? What age do you start the Otohime? Do you start with A or B1?

Awesome videos. I gotta figure out how to get mine on to the computer someday.

Re: Rearing Picasso Percula Clownfish!

Hi Sandy.
Yes, I have stopped feeding BBS for now. Otohime B1 is what they get as soon as they're large enough around 8 days old. If you opt for this method, you must be prepared to vacuum the tank at least once a day; twice is better. The Otohime will pollute the water very quickly. I am a clean freak so it works out well for me

For the videos, first upload them to photobucket. Once uploaded (it takes a looong time), just past the IMG code here in RS.

Re: Rearing Picasso Percula Clownfish!

Doni,

Have you thought about doing some genetics experiments.

If i was in your place, id be taking the offspring and mating them with some onyx perculas.

Id have one set be M-snowcasso F- Onyx

Id also have one set be F-Snowcasso M- Onyx

It would be interesting to see how sex plays a role (if any) in there markings or if a higher % is picasso or onyx one way or another.

PS: I have attached the pictures of my tank i am planning for some snowcassos. I was passed initially, can you put me on for two snows.

i have a 48 inch light on a 30 inch tank, yep, im ghetto rigging until i get the money

Thanks Doni, I appreciate the info.

If I understand correctly snocasso grow out tanks are:

78-78.5' F
1.025-6 specific gravity (salinity level)
zero nitrate level

What about the pH level?
