It's ALL gotta go!! Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change. Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian) This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%. Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!! | Watch this Ma! | Re: Mandarins Me too! And he was really detailed in what he did that seemed to work and what didn't work. Interesting that he saw failure when the nitrates were low. I guess they'd breed just fine in my reef then.

They are a few weeks old and I emailed him and asked if i would be able to get one when they get large enough and sure enough I will be getting a tank bred mandarin in a few months!!! He is even teaching them to eat flakes and pellets and whatnot, though my pod population is anything but scarce.
