what does it mean if..........?

what does it mean if the large ocellaris clownfish darts at the male every so often and shakes? the smaller one turns to the side when the larger one darts. is this part of the mating ritual. some times the small(possible male) will go to the barnacle to hide or guard it or something.

My Ocellaris pair often do the shimmy and shake dance.
I dont think it is necessarily a mating ritual
but it is a very common characteristic of clown.
Perhaps some type of communication
or establishment (and continuation) of dominance.

yep i think it is dominiace, now they hang together! i think they have figured out who is going to be the boss. now once they nature i will see what happens.

that is overy cool!!!! so that is what they are probaly doing! they are probaly talking. i wish i could translate their little language. i wonder what mine would be saying/

nowthey hang together and sleep together. the both guard my barnacle (possible nesting site).i think once they mature they will spawn. they are so interesting to watch!

When I clean my tank, I occasionally leave the magnet in the back corner that the clowns have apparently declared as home. It took me a while to figure out that when they start doing the dance close to the magnet, I'm pretty sure they are trying to intimidate it into moving away. They bite at it and everything.

It seems to really upset them so I don't leave it in that corner anymore.
