| Midas Blenny | Hey RS!! I was just given a Beautiful Mushroom Coral and a Pulsating Xenia from a friend of a friend who broke his system down a few days ago to relocate to another city. They're Georgeous!! My friend told me the guy told him he used Kent Kalwasser to dose for Calcium...so I went and got that a few minutes ago, and I've been adding phytoplex and iodine for my mushrooms and polyps but What other steps do I need to take care of them? They're not in my tank yet...he brought them over in a 5 gallon tank and a small pump b4 he left for Vegas This Morning.

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: What do I do?? They do not need phytoplankton and the iodine is 'ify' but probably not needed either - get an iodine test kit. I use kalkwasser (1 teaspoon of kalk powder per gallon of FRESH water) for all evaportated top offs. Use very carefully!! Kalkwasser has a very high ph and is caustic. I suggest testing your PH, alk and calcium prior to and then daily to monitor its affects when beginning such a supplement. Ohhh... congrats on your new additions!!! ![]()
