| Tunicate | Input on Lighting Arrangement I have a 75gal reef ready right now and I may upgrade to a 90 gal or so later on but not anytime soon. Right now I have a Custom Sealife 65w pc set up along with a Croalife 65w pc setup. I dont like the coralife unit due to undersized fans and color of the flat type pins is not the same as the square pin lights. I am considering removing the Coralife set and leave the Custom Sealife ones on and supplement it with metal halides only. This is the setup I am looking at http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium...res.asp?CartId= Which do you think would be better the 175w or 250w. From sand to top is 16" I have some fish and mostly softy corals. I would like to get a clam or anenome later on. I dont have a canopy so the retrofit is out. Any input or thoughts would be appreciated. |

| Reef Lobster | Re: Input on Lighting Arrangement Well the link did not work for me, but you are at the questionable depth for 175 or 250 wt. I think the 250wt MHs will give you the opportunity to keep any high light demanding item you want to keep, and transfer to a 90 when needed. It does not sound like you have too many high light dependant items now, but you would be set for something later. Any low light item can be put under a ledge on in a shaded part of the tank. I find it much easier to find a low light spot, then a real highly lighted area.

| Reef Lobster | Re: Input on Lighting Arrangement Well one thing I was thinking was to use the money difference from the retro kits to put towards a hood, but then again the one you are looking at would tranfer to a 90 quiet nicely. I really didn't find a better price anywhere.
