40g Reef Tank

Trying to get everything situated with my tank atm, but its coming along nicely

My question is, I want to have pretty much just one fish in my reef tank

Something pretty that my girls will enjoy watching

Currently I have a 3 pack of small Cromies for the breaking in period, but afterward I wanted to have just one fish

Any suggestions? Something reef friendly and fairly active. My girls want a tang, but from my readings the tank is a bit small for one of them

Thx in advance

Re: 40g Reef Tank

How long has your tank been up? Is it still cycling? There are a lot of good reef safe fish out there. The tang would not be a good fit as you mentioned. They need lots of room. A pair of clown fish would be nice. A wrasse, royal gramma, a diamond sifter goby. There are a lot to chose from. The Cromies would be nice too.

My wife notices any additions to the tanks. "Is that new"?

Re: 40g Reef Tank

Tank has been live about 3mo, all the readings are nominal, my cromies seem to be doing fine, and no abnormal algae growth

Re: 40g Reef Tank

Welcome to RS.

I think a 75 is small for a tang; so no disagreements there.

Clownfish are wonderful, interesting fish. Course I may not be objective there. But they have personality and are easy to care for. Each pair is different - they are individuals. Really a good choice to start with.
