The red stuff is a type of algae... I don't remember the name right now.

The flowers look like a type clove polyp.

That red algae is very hard to get rid of if it takes off on you. Be careful. I HATE that stuff.

Could that be a red cheato ? Cheato is a good macro to have in your sump/refugium, but it can be a pain in the display because pieces will break off and float around. If it's slimy, it's not cheato.

Re: Help....tellme what these are...

I think there is a type of red "turf algae" that can be difficult to get rid of. Like Zeppelin said, not good. Also watch the green bubble algae (the little green shiny balls) - those can spread quickly also.

Re: Help....tellme what these are...

If possible, I would break the chunk of rock off that is growing the red hair algae as it will take over your tank. Its hard to tell in the photo, but it looks like you also have red bubble algae. I have been fighting that for months and months now. Its worse than the red hair. I finally started just taking the infected rocks out!
