Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!!

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

What have you done to get it to reduce in algae bloom?

265 Gallon Reef built into basement wall. Lighting = 6x250 watts MH, 2x96 watt PC ,and 2x140 watt VHO for a total watt of 1,972 watts . New addition on 4-14-07 of 100 gallon sump and 100 gallon refugium. I think I have lost my mind. Gotta love this hobby Vicki

50 % water change so far and did not put anymore chemicals in the water I did order the other thing he recommended above but has not come yet

the water is a little less green today move some power heads around and also put new carbon in the tank

what type of skimmer do you have? and what brand filters? what type of lights did you say you have again? and only one koralia 4 in a 150g?

2 ca4000
1 ca3000
4 number 4 koralia
1 number 1 koralia
1 pro clear 600 impact skimmer
2 hang on the back filters
3 mh that come from 5pm till 11pm
hood lights from 4 till midnight

Have you done any more water changes? How is the color?
This is really puzzling me since it happened so suddenly.
Is there anyone else in the house who could have put something in the tank by accident or a child. Things like air freshner in the room can make a difference.
