| Limpet | Another Sump Style Question Ok i have a overflow box running down to a berlin sump.... The water from the overflow box looks like this.... Should this area be open.....the water is noisy and i beleive is causing bubbles. I can run pvc to inside the sock under the water line or is this a bad idea.....

| Elegance coral | Re: Another Sump Style Question As long as the PVC is OUTSIDE the drain pipe shown. If you place it inside, debris and algae can build up and cause a blockage. Otherwise, clip a piece of blue/white filter material at the end of the drain pipe, hanging into the water/sock, and this will allow the water to trickle down into the sump. Bubbles and noise will be much better. Just remember to clean that filter every 1-2 weeks
