how much sand?

I have the 24 aquapod. I have got 20 pounds of live sand ordered. How deep should I make it?

Less than 2" or more than 4".

I think 2-4 inches deep should be sufficient. Fish and currents will push sand around and sometimes make shallow areas.

26g glass diy sump/refugium, 20lbs aragonite sand, 22lbs fiji liverock, super skimmer, 200w heater, penguin 170gph, mag12 return pump, diy 13g auto top off gravity fed.

Yellow-tail Blue Damselfish, False Percula Clown, Royal Gramma, Blue-spot Watchman Goby, Foxface Rabbitfish, Brown Heniochus Butterfly, Coral Banded Shrimp, 2/Peppermint Shrimp, Chocolate Chip Starfish, Brittle Starfish.
Watermelon Mushroom, Red Mushrooms, Brown Button Polyp Colony, Torch Coral, Green Bubble Tip Anemone, Green Carpet Anemone, Mussels, Red/White Feather Dusters, Grape Calpura, Aiptasia.

Depending on what you want;
A DSB that will house bacteria like LR - 3+"
A bed that will not collect much debris - .75"
A bed that will hose borrowing critters like Jawfish - 3+"
A bed that will allow for most tank room - .75"

I used 18 lbs in an aquapod 12... about 1 and 1/2 inch deep
