which is more agressive

Out of these 2 fish which one is more agressive?

1. The Strawberry Gramma (also known as Purple Pseudochromis)

2.The SixLine Wrasse....

I've heard there both bold but I like them both alot so I trying to see who think which is worse?!

Re: which is more agressive

I have both and they are both about the same... And it really depends on the other fish you are thinking about getting or already have. Both fish are intolerant of other wrasses or fish of the same size and shape.. I would add them last if possible... Both fish are VERY nosey to new additions and are first to chase them around..

Re: which is more agressive

I had trouble with a Purple Pseudochromis bothering anything new that went in my tank. Finally ended up taking it out. My 6 line wrasse on the other hand has never been a problem.

I guess It just depends on the fish that you get ..all could be a tad different.. I wanted to add these two next (one at a time) but didnt know which to do first..wanting to do the less agressive one first I was gonna go with the 6line next after hearing some peoples replies but now lynns reply got me not so sure! thanks guys keep your thought coming

Re: which is more agressive

you hit it on the head Travis. It all depends on the fish. If you can observe one at the LFS for a while and how they interact it may help getting the right one.

Re: which is more agressive

Individual fish vary.FWIW a Sixline is a more useful fish than the Dottyback.

Re: which is more agressive

I've had the bicolor dottyback which is supposed to be similar in nature to the strawberry, and he was as docile as could be. He was a great fish and very hardy. Had him for 7 years until a moved forced a teardown.

Re: which is more agressive

I have had 2 six lines in 2 different tanks and had no problems with them. I kept many fish with them and really enjoyed them. I think the key to my success with them was that I added them last in both tanks. GOOD LUCK!
