| Bryozoan | Coralline dying? I was wondering what would cause my coralline algae to die off suddenly. It was growing nicely on the glass in circles the size of quarters, in the last week the centers of each circle is disappearing. My chem seems ok: 45 gal 10 gal sump remora c skimmer nitrates 0 nitrites 0 phos 0 ph 8.3 cal 420 mag 1200 hardness 8 temp 78 2 clowns 1 green chromis Thanks....................... |

| Angel Girl's Daddy ![]() | Re: Coralline dying? That only happens from my experience when you clean it. Are you also getting other stuff on there and trying to lightly brush it off? It could also just be snails moving over it. If you want more coralline just scrape it off in the water a bit. It will seed everywhere. You water parameters look good. What test kits are you using?

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Coralline dying? What is in the tank? There are a couple of critters who are said to eat corraline. I believe some urchins do and some say asterina stars do. I have never had an urchin and never noticed a problem with the asterinas but they could be the problem.
