Smile Gel super glue

Can you really use gel super glue in your tank??

does it hold better than that ugly white epoxy that I have??

Some of the epoxy is getting coraline algae on it, but it is still ugly.

I already have the pics posted in a thread, and I don't know how to attach the link.. Sorry, but look at my gallery if you like

Re: Gel super glue

Yes we use Super Glue Gel all the time in our tanks! Works GREAT for quick sets! Not as STRONG as epoxy but it's got many uses IN the tank!!

Re: Gel super glue

Yeah it all but vanishes over time. EVERYTHING in our tanks becomes covered over in time. Don't sweat it!!!

Re: Gel super glue

I use the gel super glue and love it! If you are able to have the frag out of the water while glueing it that's great. But if it's not possible, put more than you think and when putting it where you want it wiggle it a bit.

When the glue hits the water it forms like a outter shell that just needs to be broken. A little wiggle is a big fix!

Re: Gel super glue

I was very hesitant to put Super Glue in my tank. If a ritz cracker could screw up the chemical levels, what would super glue do?!, but everyone said it was ok, and they were HORRIBLY WRONG..IT KILLED EVERYTHING...j/k it worked great, and there were no ill effects.

Re: Gel super glue

That was funny.
I use it too. It doesn't hold the odd shaped stuff as well but it is great for the small stuff. Just be sure to get the gel. The regular stuff would dry to fast.

Re: Gel super glue

OK I took a leap of faith and put my full trust in you and super glued my rocks together, I was tired of staring at the ugly epoxy, and I had to clean them anyway.

and low and behold, it held, all is well in the tank, nothing died. you guys ARE the best!!!
