Cool Thread moved to equipment: too many powerheads?

Is there such a thing as too many power heads?

12 gal tank with 1 Hydor Koralia pump Nano Flow rate at 240 GPH. I was thinking of adding another for the other side of tank

Here is a Pict. It is in the upper left corner. I was going to put the other on the other side pointing to the back of the tank. this one is pointing at the glass in a sort of "reflecting" way

Any thoughts?? thanks

all depends on what you are going to house in the tank

I have polyp corals, pom pom xenia, a blue cespitularia and starburst colony. I am starting to get cyano, and hair algae. So I was thinking of increasing the circulation

Re: too many powerheads?

I have upgraded my return pump to MJ900 and also added a Koralia #1 to mine.

You have to think long and hard what corals you want to keep long term because some corals like LOTS of flow.. some medium and some low flow. It just depends on what you want to keep in there

with a SW set up there is one basic fundamental rule that we ALL should follow
When in doubt... wait it out. This means take it slow and let the tank "develop" and don't rush it. Time is your friend
