| Ricordea | So i check my tank every so often to see wats shakin... i have no fish and my tank has been running for about 2 weeks... i want to make sure everything is ok before i introduce fish and expensive coral... right now i have 2 scarlet hermits and 3 reg hermit. I have also bought 3 live rock and everything has been going fine until today i noticed a tiny snow white shrimp no bigger than 1 mm flailing about in the current of my power head... and right as im calling my girlfriend over i notice it drop real fast and land back on one of my live rock and dissapear... now i dont want to jump to conclusions but may b a mantis shrimp ... i dunno any advice?and i noticed a small sea slug it seems to b... moved real quick when i poked it... should i b concerened bought that also??? |

| Excellent Guesser :D | Re: Mystery Shrimp The shrimp is more likely to be a mysis shrimp than a mantis. Hard to tell at 1mm though for sure. Google stomatella snail and see if that resembles your slug guy.

| Excellent Guesser :D | Re: Mystery Shrimp Oh yeah, definitely food shrimp. They don't get very big and if you have a fish they don't get a chance to grow. If you have a sump and refugium you may get lucky enough to get a self replenishing population and save money on buying them frozen.
