How many times a day do you feed?

I have an automatic feeder dropping some flke food into my tank 2ce a day.

I feed a mush mix 2 times a week or so,

I feed a square or two of nori everyday

I target feed the plate coral, open brain and my BTA once a week. (piece of shrimp) they also get some of the mush squirted their way.

I feed live phyto every other day.

Too much!!

Alternate feeding Frozen mush, mysis, bloodworms, etc. 3-4 times a day - only what they'll eat immediately (more on the weekends when I'm there)

Target feed the serpent and shrimps with frozen foods mentioned above twice a week

3" square of nori everyother day for my tang (actually my damsel likes it too)

Dose with DT's twice weekly

Feed flake food 2-3 times weekly

Clam on the 1/2 shell once a week for my copperband butterfly

Blender mush once per day. Macro algae for my herbivores 3 times per week (give or take).

Too much food can lead to excessive nutrient build up which leads to elevate nitrates and phosphates which can lead to algae problems.

Be careful not to get caught up in the feeling that your fish look hungry. They are good at training their human hosts to feed them at will!

Frozen or flake once a day. I try to target feed my corals once or twice a week, but my greedy little cleaner shrimp usually steals most of the food from them.

HAP you are right on, mine have me trained that everytime I sit down on the couch I end up feeding them a little something. I just love to watch them eat.

I only have small amounts of nitrates (under 2.5 ppm) with no phosphates registering.

Well with all my tanks not one is under 2 years old. Feeding is something I do just to make me feel better. My tanks have learn to feed them selves. All the natural life in the tank is being taken advantage of.
Fish are fat and healthy I only feed when I feel like it. Does that make me bad??

My feeding habits are haphhazard. Sometimes every day for a week, sometimes every other day, sometimes only twice in a week.

For the most part, it's every-other, or every third day, I try to make sure the Tangs have something to graze on.

What I feed? Depends on my mood. Usually blender mush. Nori, Dulse, organic Romaine or baby spinach on a clip for the Tangs.

Sometimes Spirulina flake or tabs, algae pellets, zooplankton, phytoplankton, Golden Pearls, Bloodworms, frozen brine, mysis ... you get the idea. ;-)
