| Tubeworm | Tank cleaning I know there are numerous threads if I search on google, which is what I did, but none that really answer my question directly about tank cleaning. What do I use to clean the glass? How do I remove silicone from the tank (tank is pre-drilled in the corner and he filled the holes with silicone then put glass on top and more silicone)? |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Tank cleaning Mag Floats work great for routine maintenance. You can get a razor blade attachment to scrape the corraline off of the glass. Be bery careful removing silicone since that is what holds the tank together. If you do want to I would use a razor blade. If we are talking about an empty tank then wash it with a vinegar/water solution.

| Has been struck by the ban stick | Re: Tank cleaning I thought there was...I just use hot water and/or white vinegar. that works WONDERS for hard water spots. the silicone, you might be able to WARM it a little to make it more plyable, then just use a razor blade to scrape it off when it cools. |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Tank cleaning I cleaned our tank by myself. I even lifted it with just my husband onto the stand and it is a 125 glass tank. Wow was that heavy. The cleaning was far better than the lifting.
