Re: Water movement

here is what i am talking about. this is a quote from here AquaController Jr

Quote:
Control Options
Like the entire AquaController product line, both X10 and/or hardwired control options are available. For new installations we recommend a hardwired installation. Up to 3 Direct Connect 4s (DC4) or Direct Connect 4 Heavy Dutys (DC4HD), or 1 DC8 and 1 DC4/DC4HD can be used with the AquaController Jr if a hardwired control solution is desired. The DC boxes connect directly to the AquaController through a standard 4 conductor telephone cable. With 3 DC4HDs connected 12 different devices can be controlled independently, with a maximum total power dissappation of approximately 3 * 120 * 15 = 5400 Watts. No X10 modules or interfaces are required if Direct Connect control boxes are used.

For X10 control, the AquaController sends a digital signal to the control interface (part number IM513) which places a small RF signal onto the powerlines in your home. The control modules (typically part number CM466) receive this X10 signal over the power lines, and if the code matches the user settable address the module is turned on or off. Up to 12 control modules can be controlled with the AquaController Jr.
the x10's are wireless. but one correction. the x10's give you 12 controlled outlets

I set up this system up and it basically act like a wave maker. its programable so i can fine tune the timing. It works great and as you can see alot less money. Here is a link to what i bought. Only other thing you will need is two or more power heads. They will alternate from the left side of your tank to the right side. Giving your tank the swaying motion just like the ocean. Heres the link:

SF-4005

Hope it helps and gives you another idea. I am a total DIY'er.
Thanks, Reefguy, I've bookmarked that site. My bookmark list for reefing is REALLY LONG.

Happy to help you empty it out there, Frankie!

For myself I've decided on the AC Junior II updated.. the model number is ACJRSER, and the pricing on the website says $174.95

Lunar Simulator(LUNARSIM)

The Lunar Simulator (LS) allows the AquaController to control and vary the intensity to a 2 to 5 LED module
for a realistic moon cycle simulation. The moonrise and set times follow the true lunar cycle.
IT brightens and dims the LEDs in accordance with the natural cycle of the moon. Very cool feature.

Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!!

Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!
