Fish Acclimation

What methods or procedures are best for transporting a new fish home from the LFS and then acclimating into the tank? And how compatable will a new hippo/blue tang (1.5-2 INCHES) be with a pair of true percs (2 INCHES EACH)that have been the only fish in my tank for the last 3 months?

Re: Fish Acclimation

Sounds like an okay combo. How big is your tank? I acclimate by floating for 30 minutes than drip a little tank water into the bag every fifteen minutes for an hour or two. I don't know if this is good or conventional, but it is what I do...

Re: Fish Acclimation

hi. i think the fish should be ok.but remember those tangs get huge.I useally bring a styrophome container to put the bags in on the way home.it also alows the sunlight not to heat up the water.I float the bag for 15 min.then dump the fish and water into a resonable container.sypon water out of the fuge thrue a air line with a knot in it.Drip for about a hour.Im glad to see your researching.acclimation is the 1 sure way to ensure long life.exspesialy on corals and inverts
