Do you have to remove dead corals from the tank???

Dead corals should be removed from the tank or you may have a mess on your hands that you don't want....

Well water quality will go down hill FAST.
you could get some nasty bacteria growinng that could kill all your other livestock. your tank could crash.
Why would you want to keep a dead coral in your tank?
Or why do you ask?

The can release not only amonia but also toxins that can kill other in habitants

All the ones I bought are doing fine, if not great. I just didn't know the answer, so I asked.

My tank crashed and all my corals are dead and I got some bad info from a local fish store they said you can leave the corals in. When I first got into reef tanks
When I first added my corals when I was just starting our I had corals die I left them in do to bad info

you can leave their skeletons in but you need to take the dead flesh out, which i think the LFS was talking about. Maybe a misunderstanding.

Yeah, I have a skeleton of my brain corals old base. Did anyone know open brains shed their base(and hopefully mine will grow a new one LOL)?
