| Fire Coral | Hurt Trigger, Need Help I posted about this before in the reef section but any additional thoughts would be great. Basically I have a 72 gallon Bow.. I have A snowflake eel, a sail fin tang, a coral beauty, a hogface, and a bursa trigger... All of them are small, young, and not really agressive(I know that will change. Well my Trigger, (My favorite fish) has a huge hole on his left side, coming from his eye right down to to his belly. I mean I can almost see right through him. At first I though he may have been attacked, but I also think its possible that when I was doing a water change. He may have been pushed into the live rock after I turned the pumps back on. This happned yesterday, and he was very shy.. Hiding in rocks, not eating at all.( And he was always first up) Today however, he seems to be getting better. He was eating, still moving much slower.. And tonight he actually was agressive towards the food, which made me feel better. But he still has a huge hole and it looks like his skin is peeled into him. His left side is puffy. My question is should I do anything to help him. So far, I have been pretty much told to let him be. As I dont want him to stress more than he has. For now I will let him be unless I get any great Ideas. |

| Golden Moray | Re: Hurt Trigger, Need Help The only great idea that I can think to give you is that in order to house all the fish you have in your tank, You really need a tank that is twice the size of the one you have. I'm afraid that if you don't lighten your bio load, you face the possibility of many problems in the future. The sailfin tang alone can grow to well over a foot long and shouldn't be in less than a 6' long tank. I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you but someone needs to. If you aren't planning on upgrading to a larger tank in the near future, I would recommend that you pick the 3 fish you like best and find another home for the others. Please don't keep the sailfin tang in that small a tank. |
