This is just a thought...

A few months ago I had a terrible hair algae problem just in my sump, where the fuge was located. I had a three in sand bed in the fuge. I didn't have the problem in the main tank where I have a one inch aragonite bed. But I figured it was because I had a yellow tang and a lawnmower blenny. Since then...they both died. But the problem never moved to the main tank.

It's all a mystery.

the HA is gettting a bit better, I just got a used skimmer today and needed to fix 2 minor leaks we'll see what the extra skimming does to help remove the additional organics. hopefully this was just a minor bump in the road.

Im still planning on removeing the DSB in the main tank, just need to find the time to actually do it.

BTW Mike what size pump do you think a 48" x 6" Skimmer need?

(I have a Mag 5 hooked up to it now but I think its need more power think a mag 9 or mag 12 would be over kill?

Thanks
