| Tridacna maxima | Re: Sea Clone? i have the same opinion on the sea clones. i think there is some mods you can do but still not good. here is a link that might help you decide on a skimmer. http://www.wetwebmedia.com/ca/cav1i1...mpressions.htm the aquaC series would be a good choice. unless you have a sump then i would go with ASM skimmers. FYI. dont try to save money on the skimmer. |

| Cabbage Leather | Re: Sea Clone? yes, they are probably one of the worst skimmers made. although, i've seen them take out a bunch on a rock curing tank... The problem is we want performance out of the box. Rightfully so. But if you do want to buy one, I have come across a few articles on doing mods to them to make them run effecient. I believe the article had something about cutting down the inside of the cup to get the bubble over the edge and putting on a better device to adjust the air. But i think most of us would just rather spend the extra bucks on the skimmers mentioned above!! good luck. I have an ASM now......
