Refugium lighting

How much light would I need for a refugium? I am going to redesign my sump and will be including a small refugium area. I have a freshwater floureceant light. Would that be enough? I plan on keeping a couple red mangroves (how tall do they get?) and probably some kelp for my tang to eat..

Depends on the size of your refugium....I like using 50/50 (10k/Actenic) bulbs...a fresh water bulb my be to yellow and you could have un-wanted algea grow instead of good algea.

great light for fuge, I run 2 of these over my fuge,and macro does great.

i run a 96w pc now... but did run a normal T8 flourscent bulb from a Freshwater tank before and had no problems with chaeto growth!
