| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Well last year our big present was the reef tank. This year we decided to get an upgraded skimmer (still ASM but much bigger) and a chiller. I'm looking for any suggestions or things to avoid before spending this much money. My system is of course a bit non standard. I have a 125g reef tank and a 24g Aquapod (seahorse tank) that share water with each other. I have a 30g sump and will soon have a 30g fuge as well and I want something that can handle the additon of a 55g that I hope to add in the early part of the year for my seahorses. The 24 may go away or may be turned into something else but I want more room for the ponies. Anyway, does anyone have suggestions on chillers or bad experiences so I at least know what to avoid. Also do I need any additional equipment such as pumps or controlers since that will have to go in the budget as well. Of course I am looking for the best i can get for a relatively small amount of money. I have looked around and it seems I am going to need a 1/4 horse chiller but mostly I have looked at places that sell them so perhaps that is incorrect. Sorry for all the questions, but the plumbing stuff is really not my thing and my husband wants to get the chiller now and add it at the same time we add the fuge to make the plumbing easier. Let me know what you think. TIA Lynn

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Chiller for Christmas The chiller I am not sure, but it will have to be somewhere by the couch on the "back" side of my stand. Possobly under the end table I have there, The new tank when I get it, will make kind of an L shape with the existing setup. This way I can have all the plumbing in one place.

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Chiller for Christmas LOL Then I have to get even more equipment. I love my current tank so it stays if/when I get another it will be in addition to what I have. I did go look at a 125 last weekend though. One on each side of the room sounded nice.
