Drilling Holes

Setting up a sump and was exploring an external return pump setup vice submerged. I have a mag 5 I'm employing. It has 1/2" connections. To install the proper sized pipe (1/2" sched 40 pvc?) What size hole and bulkhead fitting do I cut for? (1/2" pvc is 7/8" o.d.)

To feed a pump from your sump, IMO, you'd want to go with AT LEAST a 3/4" bulkhead, maybe 1" to keep from restricting the flow to the pump...Get your bulkhead, THEN drill the hole, so you can be sure to drill the RIGHT size, as different manufacturers may require different hole sizes...

Ditto Boomer....When you buy the bulkhead they tell you the size hole you will need...might I suggest one of our sponsors~
