| Star Polyps | New Sump Getting my sump ready for my first tank (120 gallon) and since I am pretty cheap, I took a page out of Wit's book and bought a 50 gallon tool box at Lowes. I also got a smokin deal on some 1/4" acrylic to make the baffles and the refugium. Couple of questions prior to starting to make the beast. 1. I am looking for something to secure the baffles to the box. I have read on the boards that silicon does not stick well to plastic anyone have any alternatives? Thought I read some folks using superglue to attach corals. Is it safe to use it in the tank..maybe I can use it.... 2. I was told to use some sponge in the sump to reduce the bubbles. Do I need to do that if I use the bubble trap baffles? Thanks, Stil |

| Yoda Poohbah~ ![]() | Re: New Sump wheres my commish~lol weld-on works well. using baffles will work to remove micro bubbles. sponges trap dirt and create nitrates. supergel is great for corals and frags, but i dont know how well it would hold baffles. the box that i got had channels in the sides, i simply put the plexi into the channels and there it stayed.

| Star Polyps | Re: New Sump Ok, I'll take some photos as I try to get it together. Wit, mine has those channels in it as well. Is the water pressure enough to keep the baffles in place? I'll stop by Lowes and see if they have that Weld On product Thanks, Stil |
